2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV
Chevy's newest electric SUV, the 2025 Equinox EV, impresses with its sleek, aerodynamic body, innovative tech, and capabilities. It's perfect for those seeking an eco-friendly option but unwilling to give up their SUV lifestyle, offering solid driving range, good looks, and day-to-day practicality.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
Chevrolet offers the 2025 Equinox EV in LT and RS trim levels. The LT has 19-inch wheels, which the RS swaps out for 21-inch black-painted alloys. This higher trim offers a Blackout Package, which includes black front and rear bowtie emblems, mirror caps, and nameplates.
LED headlamps with signature daytime running lights are standard. The RS adds black roof-mounted side rails and heated, power-adjustable, manual-folding outside mirrors. Both models have flush door handles that look modern while improving aerodynamics. The Equinox EV showcases a sleeker shape than its gas counterpart, with sharp edges and a distinct line where the hood meets the front end.
Engine (Power)
Front-wheel-drive models have a single electric motor that delivers 220 horsepower, while all-wheel-drive versions use dual motors to provide 300 horsepower. Both configurations use an 85 kWh battery pack.
The EV offers admirable fuel economy. FWD models use 31.1 kWh per 100 miles, translating to 108 MPGe combined (117 mpg city, 99 mpg highway), and AWD versions consume 35.1 kWh per 100 miles for 96 MPGe combined (101 mpg city, 90 mpg highway). Fast-charging capabilities add around 77 miles in just 10 minutes at a DC fast charger. These figures put the 2025 Equinox EV among the top performers in its class.
Performance
FWD models get from 0 to 60 mph in 7.7 seconds, ample for daily use. AWD variants achieve this feat in just 5.8 seconds, delivering satisfying acceleration. One-pedal driving simplifies commuting — simply lift your foot off the accelerator to slow down. Regen on Demand enhances braking while recharging the battery. Ride quality strikes a perfect balance between comfort and control. The steering feels natural, and the SUV handles with unexpected composure.
Interior
A largest-in-class 17.7-inch advanced color LCD screen dominates the dash. It's accompanied by an 11-inch digital cluster that displays speed, range, and key vehicle information. Both screens offer sharp graphics with quick response times. The RS has heated/ventilated front seats and a heated steering wheel for all-season comfort.
Five adults fit comfortably with good legroom throughout. Smart storage keeps essentials within reach without clutter. With 26.4 cubic feet behind the seats (third in class behind the VW ID.4's 30.3 cubic feet and the Mach-E's 29.7 cubic feet), there's room for everyday needs. Folding the seats creates 57.2 cubic feet — your golf clubs will fit sideways with space to spare. The dual-height cargo floor provides adaptability.
Safety Features
The 2025 Equinox EV includes over 15 safety features, earning it a perfect five-star National Highway Traffic Safety Administration rating. Standard equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-keeping assistance, intersection automatic braking, and rear cross-traffic braking.
Optional Super Cruise enables hands-free driving on more than 400,000 miles of compatible highways using cameras, sensors, GPS, and map data. Its eye-tracking tech confirms you're watching the road. The system automatically deactivates in construction zones, tunnels, poor weather, or near exits — situations requiring human judgment. The available 360-degree camera creates a bird's-eye view for easier parking, showing obstacles from all angles.
